What is wrong with this picture?

The other day we had just finished our school year. Samuel completed fifth grade and Christen finished the third. We do our school year round with more frequent breaks rather than one long summer break and start and finish our school year each spring. Now that we are done, we will take about three weeks off and start when our new book order arrives. Well, on our last day, after we finished, I went through everything and cleaned out the school room. We had only finished school for about two hours and Christen finds a little booklet of math worksheets that I collected somewhere (for the life of me I can't remember where). She asks me if she can do them. "Ummm, OK. I guess so." Then Samuel joins in and they start racing to see who can finish their worksheet first. Who are these kids????
Then as they worked, Christen said these quotes. I had to write them down immediately, because I was so shocked and I didn't want to forget them. "Can I please do more times tables Mom?" "I like these. This is fun." "If you have any more times sheets Mom, I want them please."
If only every homeschool day could be like this. I can't lie and say things always go this smooth. I am blessed my kids do enjoy learning. I'm learning that the trick is to get them to do the work without them knowing it was assigned to them.
