Observing God's Creation -- Part One

As I mentioned earlier in my blog, Christen just completed a report on the butterfly - One of God's amazing creations. As part of the project we ordered some caterpillars to watch turn into butterflies. We decided to share this amazing process with others with the blog. One week ago we received six caterpillars. The brown stuff in the cup is food for them and they also form a lot of silk webbing in the cup as they grow. The small black dots are old skin that they have shed, which they do four times throughout the process,Christen was very anxious to see them turn into a pupa (also called a chrysallis).
Just about four days later we had one pupa and three others began to hang in the classic "J" form to become a pupa. Now as of Tuesday, all six caterpillars have formed a pupa! What an amazing creature! Only through a Creator can they know exactly what to do.
Time to move them into their new, larger butterfly home! Christen was so excited to do this. Now it takes about 7-10 days for them all to hatch! Stay tuned for the update.
