Homeschool Humor

Now that we have returned from our vacation it is time to hit the books once again. One of our book was a biography about Eli Whitney. For those of you scratching your heads wondering how you know that name, he invented the cotton engine (later shortened to the "cotton gin"). We were discussing what a patent is and why he needed one for his amazing invention. Christen then says she wants to invent something too. "Maybe a lighthouse" she says. I replied that we already have lighthouses and you need to think of something new that lots of people might need. After a moment of serious thought she says, "I know -- A Homework Doer. Whenever you don't want to do your homework, you just tell the homework doer to do it for you". Oh, those joyful moments of a homeschool family. :)
