What home at Harvest would be complete without a pumpkin carving? Tonight we took our pumpkins from the pumkin patch and began to carve away. This is always a great opportunity to teach our children about the love of Christ. We share that just like the pumpkin is full of all that yucky goop and seeds, so are we before we accept Christ -- full of yucky sin. When we ask Jesus to forgive our sins and be our Savior, He comes in and cleanses us of all our sins.
Then it is time to carve the pumpkin, just as He carves us and molds us to be more like Him.
Next we get to light the candle in our pumpkin. As Christians, we are to let the light of Christ shine through us to others and share His love and forgiveness throughout the darkness.
