A Fun Staycation Vacation!!

This year, since we are new to south Louisiana, we decided to take a staycation vacation. You know -- you just stay home and take day trips around the area to see all the new sights. We had a great time.

One day we spent at the Zoo which was very nice and we loved seeing all the animals God created:

Samuel found a beautiful butterfly:

A bengal tiger:
This elephant wanted to show us his new toy. He heard some people keep their spare tires in their trunk. I think he got the idea.

Next stop was a children's discovery museum! There was a lot of great, hands-on activities for the kids.
Samuel loved working in the food industry. His service was the best I have ever had. I think he was hoping for a large tip - which of course he earned.
Samuel and Christen also loved the "Little Winn Dixie" grocery store.
Another attraction we saw was the one and only Tabasco factory in the world. This is the only factory were Tabasco is processed, aged in vinegar and salt for three years, and then bottled. It was a very HOT day - even by Louisiana standards. They even had samples too, which included Tabasco Coke and Jalapeno ice-cream!!! I'm not so sure some things were meant to be together.

Following the Tabasco factory tour, we went to a jungle swamp tour. Yes, there were lots of alligators too.
Lastly we had a day of fun at the mall. They had an indoor mini golf in the dark! Everything glows in the dark under black lights. It was very cool!
They als had a neat bungy-jumping amusement we let the kids try. They loved it. Christen even figured out how to do a full back flip too!!

We had a great week and had a lot of fun together!!
